The most recent internet usage statistics are out and if you are not updating your website and emarketing to cater for the next generation then you are missing out on valuable business.
The latest figures show mobile phone useage in Australia/Pacific at 89% saturation point (Source 1), that is for every baby, child, man or women, young or old, 89 out of 100 have a mobile phone. Sure some will have more than one, however the fact remains you now see 6 and 8 year olds walking around with their own phone, ipad and other electronic devices.
These are the next generation of buyers in your business and guess what they use to research and buy products. Yep, the internet via their phone and worse case via their laptop or PC at home (Perish the thought).
Is your website user friendly for mobile phone users or do they get a heap of goobly gook? If your target market is this next set of users, have you adapted your website content, phrases, imagery and colours to target them?
Internet penetration is at its highest level ever and will only keep on growing. The European penetration for mobile phones is 126%. I.e. 1.26 phones for every person irrespective of age in Europe. Realistically we have whole societies over there who have no electricity and communication networks, so this is incredible.
